Have scent at your station 24/7
Hang the scent ball on a cable between two trees. Hang it high enough that the bears can't reach it. We recommend in the middle of your cable, tie a loop-knot. String the rope through the loop-knot, bears can't pull it to one side or the other. Cubs are notorious for climbing out on the cable and pulling the ball to one side. The loop-knot will prevent them from feasting on your scent ball. Clients have had bears within minutes of hanging the scent balls up.
