This class will help sharpen your skills and give a thorough review of operating a chainsaw.

Perhaps you have a chainsaw at home and haven’t used it for awhile or want to make sure you’re operating it safely and confidently.

The skills to run a chainsaw are very useful, fulfilling and empowering.

Dates: Tuesday & Wednesday - April 7 & 8th

Time: 4:30p - 8:00p each day (we’ll come indoors at 7pm - due to daylight hours)

Location: Palmer

Class Size: 8 ladies - over the age of 18

Class Size: 8 ladies - over the age of 18

Your instructor is very well-known for teaching this class and is extremely helpful and understanding in the learning process. We will review the basics and safety procedures to use the chainsaw for cutting firewood. We’ll also cover general safety rules around the saw, using safety gear, basic mechanics and maintenance, preparation, proper stance, body strength and saw handling.

This workshop is for women who are physically mobile, can lift and carry 20 pounds and who possess and average should mobility. Students must come to class wearing outdoor work clothing, including long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy boots.

Please dress accordingly for weather conditions and plan to wear a ballcap or hat to keep your hair tied back. Students will be handling gasoline, bar oil and can expect to get wood chips and sawdust on their clothing.

Required safety gear: Work gloves, (leather preferred), safety glasses and hearing protection.
